AI
Assistance that stays under review
The JURINEZ assistant is designed to summarize, compare and draft from the firm’s own authorized documents. It is prepaid, it names its gaps, and a lawyer decides what happens next.
What it is for
- Summarize a document or a matter.
- Analyze a contract and identify clauses against a list the firm maintains.
- Compare documents and help with a draft.
- Search documents the user is already allowed to open.
- Suggest dates. A person confirms them before they are scheduled.
Legal research against licensed sources — case law and statutes, with citations checked against those sources — is planned for later. It is not part of the first release. If a source cannot be verified, the answer is meant to say so. JURINEZ will not scrape restricted legal databases.
Safety principles
01
No fabricated citations
A citation that cannot be matched to a retrieved source is flagged as unverified and marked that way on screen. Quoted text is checked against the passage that was retrieved. When a claim is not supported by that material, it is identified as unsupported.
02
A lawyer verifies
Every result is labelled “AI-generated — requires lawyer verification”. It starts unreviewed. Only a person can mark it reviewed. Unreviewed output cannot be shared with a client or placed into a final document.
03
Not legal advice
JURINEZ is a tool for professionals. AI output is never represented as verified legal advice. The relevant jurisdiction is taken from the matter or chosen by the user. If the jurisdiction is unknown, the response says so.
04
Only documents you may open
Retrieval is limited to documents the requesting person is authorized to access, inside that person’s firm. The design blocks a request from reading another firm’s material. AI can be turned off for a firm, a role or a matter.
05
Sources, when they exist
Where a passage comes from a document, the result is planned to name the document, the version, and the page or section. Dates pulled from a document are suggestions. They do not become calendar entries until a person confirms them.
06
Customer content is not a training set
The design requires that a model provider’s contract exclude training on customer data and allow retention to be limited. Those provider terms are still being confirmed. A provider that fails the requirement will not be enabled. Any later use of data for training would need the firm’s explicit authorization.
Prepaid credits
AI is a prepaid JURINEZ service. Prices, pack sizes and any monthly allowance are not published yet. Nothing on this page is a quote.
- AI stays locked until the firm has a positive balance of prepaid credits, from a purchase or from an allowance included on a higher tier.
- A ledger is planned to record purchases, use, refunds and, if a policy is later approved, expiry.
- Each request is checked against the balance before it is sent. If the balance is too low, the request is refused.
- A low balance is meant to raise an alert so the firm can buy more credits before the assistant locks again.
- A lighter task, such as a short summary, can cost fewer credits than a heavier one, such as a multi-document contract review. The amounts are configurable and are not published yet.
- Credit purchases are part of the JURINEZ subscription relationship. They are separate from invoices a firm sends to its own clients through Docnez.
The first production region is planned for Canada. Whether a given model provider processes data in Canada is still an open question. A firm can leave AI switched off. Firms do not bring their own model keys at launch.
Requests are planned to be logged as metadata: who asked, when, which matter, which document identifiers, and the outcome. Prompt and document text are not stored in those logs by default.
